Emma's Coloring Book

Emma is the creator of a coloring book.

The coloring books are about 4.25" x 5.5" with 6 horse images to color. The coloring books are printed on speckled card stock (that we picked up today from a printing business that was just going to throw them away!!!) so you can color with markers and not worry that the marker will bleed through (I tested this out to make sure).

Emma's coloring books will be available for purchase from the Ames C.art ArtVend machine after September 24th. We are thinking $1.00 but we would be happy with thoughts on that.

Of course, if you are viewing Emma's coloring book here on her website, feel free to print it out and color to your hearts content.

Have a great day!

Earning a Buck

In case any of you are not aware, Emma LOVES horses. Her ideal day includes going to the store to purchase a new model horse.

Of course, if we gave in to this we would be broke. Those model horses are not cheap! So, being the mean parents that we are, we make Emma earn her horse money. Some days she works harder for it then others. Here is a list of ways Emma is able to earn money.

Chores- She doesn't have chores she HAS to do, more a list of chores she is able to do when she wants. Sadly, this is how we all feel about chores, so sometimes the house is a mess. Oh well. We have better things to do. Anyway, Emma earns a quarter a chore. If she is really motivated, she gets a lot done and gets a lot of quarters. Most days she doesn't get much.

Paper Route- I have been doing a paper route off and on since we have lived in Iowa (about 4 years). I have dragged Emma along with me in the past, but just recently she has started to realize how much money she can make from helping. We only deliver on Saturday and Sunday and she gets $.20 for each paper she delivers. Well, last weekend she helped out so much, I had to pay her most of the paper route money.

The pictures are not the best quality. That will happen when all you have is your camera phone :)

Emma has also been making crafts with me and selling them. There is a local shop called Where It's At that I sell some of my crafts at. Last week we set up a little sidewalk sale in front of the shop and Emma sold 2 of her t-shirt bracelets. She was so excited.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Awesome Emma

We love our friend Paula. We met Paula through the Story County Dental Clinic. She is our dental hygienist. She takes great care of our teeth :)

One day I mentioned that we were in the market for some family photos.

Turns out Paula is also a photographer. At that point it was more hobby then anything, but the photos were still awesome.

We went back last September and had more family photos taken at a local park. They turned out awesome as well :) I can't find them right now, so I will upload when I have them.

And here are a few from the latest session.

We love Paula :)

Goofing Around -Tons of Pictures!!

We have been getting better at giving in.

Giving in to the joys of just living a less stressed out life. Often this involves random, impromptu, goofy and silly photo sessions.

I was just looking at one of my posts from April about our Photo Silliness and it was so much fun to look through the photos and remember the feelings of that time.

So, I decided to do it again. The following photos are from May (last month).

It all started out innocently enough with Emma playing on her swing.

Then she moved onto the 'wula hoop'.

And then... I laid down to take a photo of our beautiful trees against the pretty blue sky.

While I was distracted by the hunk in the back yard...

I was attacked!

In order to defend myself I had to send Emma to the moon...

Which she didn't seem to mind:)

Oops, distracted again!

Emma presented me with some flowers.

Back to the front for more silliness.

Had to stop to examine the minor owie.

All better!

I use to think these feet were so cute! Whom I kidding, I still do (I just don't smell them anymore).

Um, yeah. Maybe those grubby toes shouldn't be that close to her face.

EmmaZilla!

There he is again!

Playing with the hula hoop. Emma rolled it to me and I managed to snap the photo as the hoop hit the camera. I caught both the hoop and the photo and the camera was just fine :)

And finishing up with a bit more swinging.

What a great day to remember for always!
