Busy Making and Watching

We have been busy little beavers here. Making lots, while also trying to get the house ready to sell. I am happy to say that Emma's room is pretty much all put back together. One room down, five to go. Unfortunately, that number doesn't include the outside and the basement :(

With Emma's room done, I was able to focus on cleaning up in the kitchen today. I asked Emma to put the paper towels under the cabinet. In order to do that, she needed to clear some of the canned goods out so she could get the rolls into the back of the cabinet, which is were we keep them.

It was a very long, involved process, especially once she realized she could actually fit in the cabinet after moving things out. I, of course, was too slow with the camera so I didn't get pictures of her actually in the cabinet. But she did set up some of her toys in there for the next time she decides to play in the cabinet.

Now that Emma has the t.v. back, she tends to watch a lot of videos on PBS.org. She likes to work with the sculpty clay while watching t.v. Yesterday, I decided to make some mini beeswax candles and Emma wanted to help. I posted about our beeswax candles here. We watched The Last Unicorn while crafting.

Today, Emma helped me make these. We call them Nesting Balls (or Hearts). They are bits of fabric, thread, and yarn. When the birds start migrating north again, we will hang these around the yard (probably at Gramma's house) so that the birds can use the scraps to build their nests. You can find a tutorial here.

Emma also worked on her Barbie paper dolls. This has been a favorite lately. Good thing we just got a new printer that costs less per page...

And lastly, Winter has finally arrived and looks like it might stick around for a while. We really enjoyed the last few days of 50 degree weather, but we knew it couldn't last till Spring. Emma really wants there to be enough snow so that she can use her skies she got last year. As much as I hate snow, I hope she gets the chance to try them out. We may end up having to bring her somewhere that makes snow...
